
Fotis Oikonomou
Fotis holds an MSc in Economics & Business: “Port and Transport Economics” from Erasmus University of Rotterdam, Netherlands. He has gained experience in leading and managing projects in a diverse range of industries including logistics, port, shipping and technology. He participated in the preparation of the feasibility study for the mega-construction of Maasvlakte 2 terminal in the port of Rotterdam. He is currently working as senior researcher in Danaos Research Center (DrC) being engaged in operational research applied to maritime industry. Fotis has been participating in several E.U. Research Projects directed to steer innovation in maritime operation. Author of several papers with a sea-transportation content.

Michalis Bourmpos
Michail Bourmpos is the Director of IT for the Municipality of Piraeus. He received his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 2000. In 2001 he was granted the MSc in Control Systems and in 2002 the MSc in Advanced Computing, both from Imperial College, London, UK. In 2005 he received an MBA on tecno-economical Systems from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece. He also received a PhD degree on Information Technology and Telecommunications from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, in 2017. He has extensive work experience as a freelancer in managing IT projects. He has also managed European funded projects under the FP7, ESA and Horizon frameworks. He has been working for the Municipality of Piraeus since 2006 and was appointed Director of information Technology in 2020.

Nikolaos Tsolis
Nikolaos Tsolis is a PhD candidate in Informatics at the University of Piraeus, specializing in Smart Technologies in Health (eHealth, mHealth) with a focus on machine learning, AI, and the security of health information systems and IoT in wearable devices. He holds a Master’s in NHS Health Services Management and a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, both from the Hellenic Open University. With extensive experience in health IT, Tsolis has held key roles in the Greek Ministry of Health, including Executive at the Electronic Health Governance Directorate and Special Advisor to the Minister of Health.
He has also been involved in large public IT projects and R&D initiatives, and served as a professor in various universities. Currently, he is a consultant in cybersecurity, specializing in ISO 27001 compliance, and has served as CISO at the General Hospital of Athens and the Hellenic Red Cross. His research interests span 5G networks, wireless sensor technologies, and the application of AI and machine learning in health services.
